We’ve all heard it before: “If it’s meant to be, it will happen.”
It sounds peaceful, right? Almost like a cozy blanket for our worries.
But here’s the catch: that phrase can quietly turn into a permission slip for inaction.
When we say “if it’s meant to be,” we often let go of the wheel completely. We wait. We hope. We tell ourselves that fate will handle the rest.
The truth? Fate might open a door, but only you can walk through it.
In Chapter 13 of my book, Change Your Words, Change Your World, I talk about how this comforting half-truth can easily become a trap. Life is a partnership between grace and grit—between the timing of the universe and the action we’re willing to take.
Destiny may write the script, but we still have to play our role.
The Whole Truth
f it’s meant to be, it will happen—
…but only if you help it happen.
Dreams don’t bloom on their own. They grow when you water them with effort, belief, and bold steps forward.
